    • You have to help your child when he's in pain. Sleep habits may regress, but comfort your child, give the motrin, get through the teething (maybe give something cold to suck on?) and worry about sleep patterns after your child is not in discomfort. Don't let a child in pain CIO.

      • ITA - help the poor kid. He's not waking for the heck of it. Chances are, when he's no longer in pain, he'll sleep better then. If not, then deal w/it then. In the meantime, go in and give him more Motrin, comfort him, etc. Molars are awful!

        • OP here - thanks for resassuring me I am doing what is right. i think for me i just worry giving tylenol / motrin too long (been 4 nights) and how do i tell still in pain other then he seems to be holding his face and during the day excessive droll and bitting on his hands. guess i just need to go with the instinct. thanks!

          • (poster from above) yes, trust your instincts. DD is almost 17 mos, and she got all 4 molars the same week a while back. The teething lasted a couple of weeks, and it was awful! Night waking, fever, etc. But, once the teeth had popped through, she was back to usual. Hang in there :)
