My three-year-old son has just developed a HYDROCELE. He has a swollen scrotum on the right side. Do these always require surgery?

Oh so sorry--I misread your post--I thought it was regarding a hernia in his groin area--I totally misread it--that being said, if you discuss this with your pediatrician and it is something you need a pediatric surgeon for....I am using Howard Ginsburg at NYU--he is supposed to be great. Thanks and sorry for the mess up.
