Anyone know about salary negotiation? I'm working PT - had a super difficult time finding something and ended up taking something $16/hr, but it's very flexible. Person above me quit and I was offered her job, but they are not replacing mine. She was making $43,000 or about $26/hr (salary with benefits). I would split her job with my manager, since I am only PT. Want to ask for $26/hr b/c will be doing my job plus half of hers. Keeping my PT hours of 25 a week. Afraid boss will think asking for $26 is too much because it's a huge jump from $16. How should I approach this? Also, I know it took 3 months for them to find me for this position and don't want to do another search, so I have a little bit of leverage. Plus I'm already trained. How do I get the most money out of this without coming across like I'm asking too much?
