38 weeks pg.and mostly feeling anxious-as i did throughout my first pregnancy. dh plans for us to attend bar mitzvah of close family on his side in spring lake nj. last time we went we sat in horrific traffic. even tho onot so far from the city, i fear, going into labor and freaking out in the car. would you just not go?

- just went through that this weekend. 38 weeks and delivering in Manhattan and we had a family (DH) party in Long Island. I was terrified but we did it. We made rules first... I checked with OB right before going (she said it was fine, no dialation) and I told him we had to leave the second I wanted to. We wound up staying the whole time and it was ok.

  - don't really want to deliver in jersey at different hospital with another doctor-like i said, i am anxious-nauseaus, uncomfortable etc.

- my friend had her 2nd baby in a taxi on 9th Ave while on the way to hospital. cab got pulled over but ended up getting a police escort to hospital. 2nd babies are quicker than 1st. if this is your 1st you will have hours before you need to go to hosp! that aside, i was so uncomfortable before my DB was born I didn't want to be in a car for more than 5 min.

- if you are really worried, don't go. if you think you'll be able to relax enough to enjoy the party then go.
