I have a dd who, because of having a fall birthday, would be in K in the fall is we went public, but would still be too young for K if we went private. We've taken the G&T test, but won't get the results until way after we have to put down a deposit at our nursery school for their 4s program. We're zoned for PS 158, so our G&T would be lower lab. Affording private school is possible, but not ideal. What would you do? Send her to private? Sign her up for 4s at nursery school and see what happens and lose all that money if she actually gets into a G&T? Send her to 158? Is lower lab that good as compared to good private schools? Do they have art/science and all that?

[ Reply | Options ]You are not guaranteed at spot at LL. You and everyone else in D2 with qualifying scores will rank, and most people will list LL first.
[ Reply | Options ]You should tour LL. Maybe tour a couple privates, but I would not stretch for private over LL.
