is it ok to have tv on during the day while at home with nb? not sure if stories are true about tv having adverse effects on babies...

    • We did watch while dd was a total total out of it newborn... as soon as she was remotely alert, we stopped watching -- btw she was #1 so we could be all uptight about tv :)

        • seriously. i was totally paranoid about the TV from reading this- we only just started letting DD (11 months) be in the same room if the TV is on. and i just started watching Signing Time with her, so I did make a few exceptions.

            • i tried teaching her signing but she never caught on. after watching the dvd 2x, she started signing milk, water, eat and more. amazing. best.thing.ever.

              • Yes I major in Deaf Studies and ASL. Sign time is what my Deaf professor made us watch in the beginning. So I do suggest it

    • I keep the tv on and my older one watches tv so my 16 month old has been exposed since the beginning. He will occasionally watch a couple of minutes of blues clues but is otherwise not interested. I know people freak out about this but I'm pretty sure my mom had a stream of soaps on when I was a kid and my sister and I are ok.
