DH and I are planning to spend our first whole night away from the kids and would like to find a romantic NYC hotel. Since I live here, I've never stayed in one. Suggestions?

      • np Only if they get a suite. They're fine, but the normal rooms are pretty dumpy (have stayed in both while waiting for apt reno to be finished).

    • Expensive, but I would go for the four seasons. The bathrooms are so luxurious and they have some rooms with balconies with beautiful views. its the kind of room you want to sty in in, if you know what I mean.

    • I would choose that newish hotel on Lafayette if you want downtown, or else Grammercy Park hotel. There is also Irving Place Inn, which seems like a romatic little spot. For uptown, Morgans or the renovated Stanhope.
