  • I feel a bit cheated. We just went through the process and didn't interview with any DOAs. I wanted to see Babby and Natasha and all the others people talk about on this board! I hope this doesn't mean we don't stand a chance of getting in.

    • When we went through the process, we interviewed with 2 doas out of 7 (and one of them was Barbara Root at CSH--and she interviews every single applicant, so that doesn't count). Got into two schools (both tt) and didn't see doa at either. Did get dinged at Dalton after basement interview. Wouldn't hold my breath for that one as it's way more about doa interview than any other school in the city, imo. Gl!

    • Whoa! That's bad. We interviewed with all DOA's except got the dreaded basement interview at D (w/l). Dd got 2 accepts 2 years ago. This year for her sib we only applied to 3 & got all Doa's.

    • this was us....dc was waitlisted across the board (9 schools, only 2 TT)....had 97 erbs but late may b-day. Didn't meet 1 DOA (got the basement at Dalton)

    • I'd agree about Dalton (that a basement interview indicates a lack of interest generally). When we applied two years ago, dc was accepted at Brearley without a Winnie Mabley interview but not at Spence, where we DID interview with Susan Parker. I don't think it matters that much, aside from Dalton.

      • We applied two years ago, too. Similar experience, but opposite. We DID interview with WM at Brearley; dd didn't get in. We DIDN'T interview with SP at Spence; dd did get in.

        • Us too - exact same experience. Did interview with WM; didn't get in. Didn't interview with SP; did get in. (Tiebreaker: did interview with TC at Chapin; did get in.) I don't think it matters at the girls' schools.

          • We were told we'd have Chapin, too, if we didn't write a FC to Spence. Spence was our clear FC, so we wrote the letter and Chapin turned into a wl. Didn't interview with TC, but Deborah someone.

            • We didn't write a letter to either one - too waffly (we were lucky idiots, basically). DD got into S and C and we chose S (which was a great choice, but we couldn't really go wrong). This was three years ago.
