    • I'd bet its some of the shoot from the hip stuff. "Bring it on", "Heckuva job, Brownie" and also ill-considered moments like "Mission Accomplished". I think what he means is that he thinks the policies were not wrong, but that when you communicate in sound bites, you can't not be misunderstood.

    • it means that he regrets some of the things he has said, but not the things he did. it goes with the whole tenor of his presidency, which was all about politics, so he would regret something that didn't go over politically. he regrets "mission accomplished" but not the disastrous iraq war. he regrets not landing airforce1 in New Orleans because politically that would have been good, but he doesn't regret not actually helping that city recover. he regrets saying "dead or alive" about osama, but doesn't regret pulling out of afghanistan. he regrets that iraq didn't have wmd (think about that!) because it proved him to be a liar (rhetoric) but doesn't actually regret going to war for no reason.
