    • It wouldn't be worth the expense just to simply take a couple kids to Toronto.

        • Well, a friend of mine had to expedite a passport to the tune of $600! Do an online search and a bunch of companies will pop up.

    • http://travel.state.gov/passport/get/first/first_831.html - i doubt though that you may be able to get it for this weekend, especially since they are minors and first passport. but also for some reason i am still under the impression that passports are preferred, but still not necessary for enter to canada, but i could be wrong though

      • The issue is less about entry into Canada than re-entry into the US.

        • np Americans require passports to enter Canada (as Canadians require passports to enter the US). Ditto citizens of each country entering their own country. Signed, Canadian living in the US

    • for minors it has to be done in person w/both parents. call the Passport office on Hudson street and get an appointment. but you have to have your tickets to get the appt.

    • Unless there are newer regs for US citizens entering Canada, birth certificates are adequate. Call the US State Dept and the Canadian Consulate. We flew to Toronto last spring and that was adequate for our minor child.

      • The AMERICAN rules are that if you're entering the US by air, you need a passport. This includes kids. So, if you're flying to Canada, you MUST have passports to get home.
