I am seeking a pediatrician for my newborn. This person needs to be in Manhattan (ideally downtown) and must be open to my concerns about vaccinations (I may decide against them) and my holistic approach to raising my daughter. Can you help?

[ Reply | Options ]NP -- agreed. My ped has an autistic son and is 100% pro vaccination. Cannot imagine a good doctor thinking skipping vaccinations is a good idea, though certainly a good doctor WILL explain their thinking and why they feel that way. Also if you want a dr to support that you will try to raise your kid in a healthy manner, great -- if you're like the nut job I met who took her 6 week old to the chiro instead of a regular dr for a checkup, I doubt any ped will go for that.

The best ped for your child will be open to your concerns and intentions for your child's best care and development. This should include support and information relating to vaccinations, creating schedules that may be more in line with your beliefs and concerns, offering possibilities for 'unbundling' some of the 'scarier' ones and directing you to important sources of good info. Holistic doesn't mean that we should run away from alopathy in total. The trend toward vaccination 'abstinence' is surely rearing ugly heads of otherwise preventable illnesses and should be thoroughly explored by you-as part of your holistic intent. GL
[ Reply | Options ]did anyone watch private practice wednesday? I know its just a tv show but i think it would make anyone think about not vaccinating their children. It also bothers me to know that people aren't doing it because it puts other children at risk..
[ Reply | Options ]If you are still on, go on Mothering.com to the forums ("Finding your tribe"). There is a NY board with lots of anti-vaccine moms exchanging info on ped's. I also recommend the Sears book on vaccines. It's not pro- or anti- particularly and is very informative. There are peds who fit your needs here but probably not that take your insurance.
[ Reply | Options ]It's color of law that says you need to vaccinate. Nuremberg trials clearly showed that you can't forcefully vaccinate people despite what doctors and the medical authorities say. There are books that assist parents in navigating around the Chemical Pharmaceutical Industrial Complex. Dr Palevsky is a great doctor to consult with on the open questions regarding vaccinations - he holds seminars in NY from time to time and asks questions such as: do you really want to give a baby a shot that bypasses their defense mechanisms and contains MSG, Formaldehyde, fragments of genetically modified DNA from non human species, mercury, aluminum. Anyone who thinks those ingredients are good for their child needs their head examined. Doctors used to also perform labotomies and prescribe certain cigarettes. Vaccines are chemical labotomies, which is obvious now that more and more kids are turning into vegetables. The official figure is about 1 in a 100. I think those are just the proverbial canaries in the coal mine. A fact is that IQs are down, cancer is up, and folks are more sterile than they used to be. Rep. Dan Burton exposed the complicity between profiteers, the CDC and FDA. That's in the congressional record. The Virus and The Vaccine is a book that shows how millions were contaminated with a carcinogenic monkey virus. This is mainline history. There are many other horrors in this subject. Humans and their ancestors have lived for millions of years without vaccines - but somehow they can't any longer? Note that communities such as the Amish have averted the neural plagues hitting the rest of the population. 'Don't Vaccinate! Before You Educate' by Dr and Lawyer Mayer Eisenstein has some good info in it as well. It's not lost on me that many of the pharma companies are descendents of the Nazi enabling IG Farben - 'Kaiser Permanente' etc. Dr Horowitz documents this in his many books and videos. Good luck and watch out for the zombies who will do anything a person in a white lab coat tells them. Also check out the simpsonwood documents that show acknowledgements by the industry by the autistic plague. One of the Kennedy's has done good work in exposing this. The Journal of American Medical Association even has charts that show the decline of infectious disease were taking place prior to the invention of these 'vaccines'.

Are you expecting something special from your dh for Valentine's Day?
- Yes, and he's in big trouble if he forgets.
- Yes, but it's not something I care about.
- No, thank goodness.
- No, and I'm already fuming. He's so unromantic!
- Don't know...
