Public school kid, excellent student now applying to private schools for middle school and curious about financial aid awards. We are in the $90,000-100,000 range. Do not own, have no savings, no help from parents, etc. Interviewers have been very encouraging to us, and my daughter is excited and hopeful...I'm nervous schools won't come up with enough aid. looking at Spence, Marymount, NBS, Fieldston. Anyone have any idea what kind of range award packages are? What schools are generous? Do the schools ask you to finance education?

    • I am not sure I understand the question. If they really like your DD, you will get aid but with 100K HHI you will be asked to pay about 10K still most likely. Odds of getting a free ride with that income in the current environment are very low.

      • We're not looking for a free ride, just curious how the FA works and a ballpark of what kind of aid package (if any) we might get.
