whatever you want to believe. A 99 will only give you one check mark. There are many many more things that schools look at which they won't overlook because I child happens to have a fantastic day on a test. NP btw.
[ Reply | Options ]A 99/99/99 will place your kid in a special pile of applicants as there are so few.
[ Reply | Options ]sure. maybe at the schools you are familiar with. It is noted just like anything else. Two exact kids with a 98 vs a 99 is one thing but that does not exist. If you believe that a 99 will have a clear advantage over a 98 during admissions, I hope your dc has a 99. Not a big difference to any school. This is from my personal experience and every friend in nyc private academics.
[ Reply | Options ]I don't think so. I have two dcs. One got a 99x3 and the other a "low" 99 due to a 99/98/99. Both dcs did equally well and both dcs had schools they got into and schools they did not. No one gave me any indication that either was so rare just that they had good solid scores. A good score just checks that box and nothing else. A kid gets in through the playdate and other needs of the school.

Congrats! Ignore lousy jealous ones on this board. Now you can move on to the next task. GL!
[ Reply | Options ]op: thank you. i am fully aware that there are kids who scored 99x3, and i am happy for those families. but right now i am focused on my own kid and we are so happy with the 98 score. she was always a "late" bloomer (verbally, developmentally, etc) when she was younger, so we have heard many theories. she is a smart kid - have always thought that and always will (98 score or not). :)
[ Reply | Options ]Good for her and for you for having confidence in her. Enjoy and hopefully you and she will be happy with the options in February.
[ Reply | Options ]np: Agreed. Also anyone who does not celebrate the success of their kid (or walks around wishing she did better than a 98) has big problems... The fact that you see this for what it is (great news) and are so happy and proud of her makes me think she is going to do just great in life w/supportive, NON crazy parents

When I ride in a taxi cab with my DC I:
- Use a carseat
- Buckle him/her in his/her own seat
- Hold him/her on my lap
- I'd never ride in a taxi with my DC, it's much too dangerous!
