We preferred Anderson over Hunter. Live on the UWS, could never connect with the idea of Hunter. I know the idea of a k-12 is appealing, but it just didn't seem better otherwise. didn't get either, but thought I'd chime in.

many posts comparing hunter and G&T. dc is at private. scored 99s on erb/sb and not selected for either school (w/l at anderson), but I believe we would have chosen anderson over hunter. just a different view. I understand that people who want public see hunter as the top school, but we felt anderson was a better fit for dc and our family

For me the lack of DOE interference at Hunter was as big a draw as the K-12 aspect. But to each her own.
[ Reply | Options ]sure, but the actual day to day experience at school seemed better for our dc at anderson.

They are both great. Not putting your particular DC in the mix Hunter is the better school and no one really debates that (many families at Hunter have kids at Anderson...they all want their kids at Hunter but they didn't get in. They are also all happy with Anderson and realize why their dc didn't get in). Hunter is a different breed of kid. Not better or worse but different. Why everyone argues it I don't know. Harvard is better than UNC but both great schools. Both hard to get into. Harvard is better.

UrbanBaby Asks...
When I ride in a taxi cab with my DC I:
- Use a carseat
- Buckle him/her in his/her own seat
- Hold him/her on my lap
- I'd never ride in a taxi with my DC, it's much too dangerous!
