Can anyone tell me what the parents are like at City & Country? interested in this school and wondering if parents are mostly down to earth, friendly, etc. or is it known to be a snootier parent body?

^^I have to leave but I will watch post and if you have any Q's I will be back early afternoon
[ Reply | Options ]thanks, I really appreciate it. We would be a FA family so I am just worried about my dc feeling inferior or "poor" next to all the families with full time help and big beautiful apartments.
[ Reply | Options ]the FA familes aren't stigmatized. The school has many families (black, white, hispanic, ect) on FA. That's all private info and they don't know who is on or not. In fact the families I know that are very well off, buy their kids clothing at the same stores as we do (like Old Navy, Gap or Childrens place). I love that the moms come as is for pick up and it's not a fashion show

I'm glad I could help. We are very happy there. It's a small tight community. I love that the staff knew my dc name within day 2-3 of school (I mean staff other than the teachers). They really make you feel welcome there. We will send all of our kids there if god's willing
[ Reply | Options ]^^^go to the open house if you make the lottery and speak to parents, speak to the kids (graduating class) and speak to the teachers. It will be a mad house but just don't visit the class that you are applying for..visit K, 1st, 2nd, ect. Every yr I volunteer and am in the classrooms so parents could come and ask Q's. Many ppl don't visit the older classes because they figure this isn't what we are applying for but you do get an insight from parents

C & C Mom, I used to be a C & C mom myself and I miss it so much. It is all the things you say it is. Here's my question for you. After pulling my child out of the school to attend a public school, I now want to have my younger daughter apply to the II's. Any chance we could get in, or no way in hell.

When I ride in a taxi cab with my DC I:
- Use a carseat
- Buckle him/her in his/her own seat
- Hold him/her on my lap
- I'd never ride in a taxi with my DC, it's much too dangerous!
