  • A family I do not know is lending me their nanny while on vacation. They use her 8/6pm and pay her $500 a wk. They already promised her/me that they will pay her the difference if I pay her less. I'm using her about 10 to 5:30 every day. I'm thinking of payin her the equivalent per hr (which is $10). WWYD? What if I sometimes pay sitters $12 but they watch just for an hr or 2, not for a full week.

    • $10 is not fair to her or your friends, whom will pay the difference. Why wouldn't you go more toward the $12-$15 range? The family 'loaning' her to you, guarantee a certain volume of hrs per week; so qualifying for a lower hourly rate; Freelancers and part-timers make more $$ for being guaranteed less hours. Simple, Right?
