  • 5 yo DD just returned from a few days with my mom and sister. She had a blast. Constant entertainment and they were very permissive(T.V., junk food, misbehavior). She has been exhibiting major behavior problems that I had started to rein in but they resurfaced i guess b/c she was away and after a few reminders I yelled and sent to her to her room. She cried and said she wanted to live with her Grandma and I could visit and we could talk on the phone. It seemed very planned out. It hurt my feelings. After having not seen her since Sunday, today was not the happy reunion day I expected. Anyone have similar experiences?

    • oh yeah. all the time. unfortunately. extended family is traditionally "allowed" to spoil the kids and it's your job to raise them. Pretty much mom=bad guy!

    • she's 5 and being bratty. Don't give in to her comments. They are just to make you feel guilty and manipulate the situation. They are drama queens..remember this. Don't feed into it. She just needs to remember that there are rules at home and just because grandma may not follow them doesn't mean she doesn't have to follow them. Respect is important and she isn't too young to learn this
