We went through the K admission priocess last year. DC was SO but landed in G&T and we're happy. Regardless, I kind of wish we could do it all over again.
21 replies [ Reply | Watch | Options ]funny. we weren't so, but still ended up at selective public. if I could do it over again, i would only apply to maybe 3-4 schools rather than 9. big waste to spread it so thin. once a school hears they are not a top choice for you, you end up a w/l. better not to apply to schools you are not in love with.

wow, best vba of the night. proving once again that anderson moms are scheming, fretting, competitive little freakazoids who are always wondering if they could have done better.

I am saying that applying to 10+ schools as is being recommended these days is ludicrous unless you are willing to go just anywhere for the sake of being at a private school. but if you have to say your fc or top 3 choices or whatever, and that means you have no shot at any of the others you spent months applying to, what is the point? I guess you can make your choices based on feedback in many cases, but then you need to be willing to take anything you can get. we just weren't willing, and I knew it at the time but ignored my gut. was going through the motions.

we went through, too, and ds got a spot which we ended up turning down for G&T. Wish we had never gone through the private dance/ We wasted tons of time and money and were all completely stressed out by the end of the process. Felt that we needed to know all of our options, though, as our zoned school is really crappy.
