I can't take my downstairs neighbor anymore. She is a young Japanese lady who unfortunately works from home and has been complaining about my son making noises for over a year now. We have rugs all over the apt and the law says that if 80% of the apt is covered by carpeting or rugs we are ok. She is sooo annoying! She keeps texting my hubby's phone especially on weekends complaining about the noise. We have a 22 months old boy and expecting a second baby in Dec...I don't know how she's gonna deal with it. Anybody else in same situation?

op: ITA but don't want to give her the satisfaction! Last weekend she asked if we were moving because she thought we were moving furniture around...we were not! Another time she asked to keep my son quiet and not let him run or taking him outside since it was a nice day....she sooo rude!

op: it doesn't matter at all. I only mention it I guess because I used to live in Japan and I met some of the loveliest people ever. I know they are usually very quiet and in a way I feel bad because the walls are paper thin in my building, but how are you supposed to explain your little one that he can move or play or drop any toys?

[ Reply | Options ]It is a residential building and she is home because she is working from home during the day. While I would not be loud on purpose, I would point out to her that she is choosing the situation she is in.
