Am I the only one totally stunned by the Edwards' debacle? How does Elizabeth Edwards do it? He's obviously the father of this baby and is in the middle of this affair. I can't believe I had some admiration for this sleaze. Yeccchh.

np: agreed. i just found out all the John McCain affair stuff (I had no idea, I guess I missed that media firestorm) and somehow it surprised me. (PS Not sure that is his baby, though, OP -- Edwards wants pat. test and Rielle does not....)
[ Reply | Options ]dh is in network news tv and said the bush was boffing condy and that laura bush was so doped up that she didn't even care. it's a rumor of course but rumors often are found out to be true.
[ Reply | Options ]They never pursued McCain this way. Maybe times were different. Thet looked the other way with JFK too. Now it's being said that Edwards and Hunter choreographed this paternity test thing.

He is running for president and claiming to be like so "for others and not for himself" and it turns out he dumped his first wife (after a car accident?) and had all these affairs on her. Edwards, although gross, isn't even running for office
[ Reply | Options ]That is a really inaccurate representation of McCain's history. His first wife (who he is still close with and who says she wants to see him elected president) has said any number of times that she believes that his time as a POW and his desire to kind of "go wild" (my words not hers) when he got back from Viet Nam were what killed their marriage. There are a ton of things to attack John McCain on. He is a dangerous and disassociated man. He is not the free thinking/"Maverick" of eight years ago. Lets focus on what matters here and leave the mud to the pigs.

When you've been together as long as they have and been through as much as they have your marriage is about more than sex.
[ Reply | Options ]OP here: We also just celebrated our 31st anniversary coincidentally and let me tell you old dh would not be living with me if he had done what Edwards did. I have a 7 y/o too. Yes our marriage is a best friend thing as well as a love affair but I will not be betrayed. That kind of passion lives on.

This is old news here on UB. But it is hilarious to believe that because Edwards staunchly demands a paternity test - a test which Rielle Hunter has been very well paid to refuse - he is somehow telling the truth about this fact. No one could stomach the idea of Edwards humping his floozy during the presidential campaign - a fact that I sadly have no doubt is true.
