  • my 8.5 mo ds is sick for the first time. he's had a fever for about 2 days. highest was this afternoon 101.5. gave him tylenol. he's also been throwing up full bottles of milk after feedings. maybe once every 2 or 3 bottles. saw doc today and said he likely has virus and to stop the formula, give only pedialyte for 24 hours. what can i do in the mean time to help my baby get better? i'm so worried. do i keep him dressed cool, or normal is ok? and he's not drinking pedialyte well.

    • sorry to hear your little one is sick. I know how it feels when they get sick for the first time. Just check on him throughout the night and continue to offer the liquids. I would dress normally, 101.5 is not too high.

    • mine had that when he was 5 months. it's awful. we offered pedialyte and had to sloowly get him back to formula. he wanted the formula but would throw it up. just soothe him when needed etc. definitely give him pedialyte. as long as he is pee'ing as usual, he'll be fine and it just takes time. :(

        • whatever you do avoid the ER like the plague. especially if your in the city. Friday nights are hell there! sounds like a low grade thing to me. I would just comfort ds, keep cool and rock and cradle as much as possible.
