Firing housekeeper. She's been with us 7+ years and has had great attendance, great attitude, etc. Problem is she's not a great cleaner. We just moved to a much bigger place, and her cleaning is worse than at the prior apt -- I think the new apt is just too much for her. We like her personally, but at the end of the day we DO want our apartment clean, which is just not happening. So, we need to let her go. How much severance? Is it kinder to give a combination of notice and severance -- I'm fine with putting up with a few more weeks of "sloppy" cleaning if it makes the termination more palatable, but part of me thinks she might rather make a clean break once I've told her we're letting her go. Is one month severance plus two weeks notice reasonable?

When I ride in a taxi cab with my DC I:
- Use a carseat
- Buckle him/her in his/her own seat
- Hold him/her on my lap
- I'd never ride in a taxi with my DC, it's much too dangerous!
