    • hmm...I'm originally from SI and I have loosely been following this stupid controversy in the SI Advance when I visit my mother. I agree with him in that the SI crowd that visit Belmar likely fit his description, but I'd wager a lot of money, they've got plenty of company with trashy Jersey people who visit the shore. Belmar is not an upscale scene.

      • ITA. I live 2 min from Belmar and I can't stand it. Mostly cheesy but don't get me wrong the million dollar houses are beautiful!

      • Every town has a good and bad area. Belmar is NOT trasshy. Seaside (Sleezside) is trashy.

        • There are some beautiful houses in Belmar, no doubt. I think the party scene gets pretty trashy, not just due to the Staten Island visitors.

          • Most towns have a bar that attract unsavory people. It doesn't mean the whole town should be labeled trashy. I dislike the word trashy.

            • Well sometimes it's a fitting label. Belmar has a summer scene that attracts a high amount of "unsavory" types, whether they come from Staten Island, or Anytown, NJ.
