When I see posts like "I'm so excited my DC is going to our zoned public", I laugh. There's nothing exciting about it - all you have to do is move to the damn zone - it's not like they can not accept your DC. They have to accept every reject that walks in the door

Good zoned schools in this city are rare, and anyone who can afford to move into a good zone is really lucky! I know many couples who could well afford private and have great kids who qualify for citywide and/or G&T but actually prefer great zoned public... more power to 'em. I wish I had that choice.

When I ride in a taxi cab with my DC I:
- Use a carseat
- Buckle him/her in his/her own seat
- Hold him/her on my lap
- I'd never ride in a taxi with my DC, it's much too dangerous!
