  • Took a long bike ride with the kids today down riverside park. So much fun. 9 year ds just has one small problem. When he looks at something on one side or another, his hands follow (in other words, he swerves). I ride behind him and remind him to stay on the right, but any way to train him out of this? I don't want him to cause an accident.

    • ride behind him and mutter-- look straight ahead, look where you want to go, if you want to see something on the side you have to stop, keep going keep going keep going, look ahead look ahead.... it's frustrating I know

    • I ride that bike path, and whenever I see a kid, I immediately tense up for this reason. I'm no speed demon, trust me. But almost all of the near accidents I have had involved young kids on bikes. Please be extremely careful on that path with your ds. There are lots of bikers who just zoom through there, with no concern for pedestrians, dog walkers, kids.
