    • I just saw it. DO NOT take your kid. There are MANY examples but I'll give you one: The Joker holds a knife in a guy's mouth and very slowly tells the guy the story about how when Joker was a boy his drunk father sliced the corners of his mouth open to create a smile. DO NOT take your five year old! TONS of violence, scary characters....don't take the 7 year ld either. Seriously, I'm 35 and it was hard for me to process. It's 3 hours long, it's very intense, it's loud, it's violent, the plot is hard to follow, one guy gets his face half burnt off and they show it....don't take your kids.

      • So I can expect a dozen strollers at my local theater in Brooklyn. (The parents don't bring the toddler so much as allow him/her to come with 7 yo brother... I am amazed at how many kids I see in really adult oriented R movies.

        • It's a bit of a problem for my 4th grader because it seems she's the only one in her class not allowed PG13 movies. I don't think we're prudes but jeeze, they're PG13 for a reason.

    • Yes. While a fantasy movie, it's a good glimpse into how the world actually operates. I'd also reccomend "Requiem for a Dream" "American Psycho" and "Bamboozled"

      • I LOVE the chapter in American Psycho (the book, not in the movie) where Patrick forced a girl to get an abortion, drives her to the clinic in a limo, refuses to go in and then buys a bunch of baby toys and puts them in the backseat for her when she gets out and then gets dropped off to go to Aspen while she's getting the abortion...hysterical!

        • I would be livid beyond belief. This movie is INCREDIBLY violent. There was not a single child in the theater when I saw it.

    • Not trying to jump on you, but what from the ads or trailer make you think for a second that it would be appropriate for those ages...?
