  • I am very ready to leave nyc. Should we go now, before I lose my mind, or wait until #2 arrives (who knows when that'll be)? I work full time hence the hesitation.

    • Well - where can you afford to go? Speaking as someone who spent 45 min. on hot subway platforms when I could have ridden 35 min. on a cold MTA commuter train - I see your point!

      • we can not afford much. I have been looking at the river towns and waiting for something to become available...not much happening there in the 500s.

          • yes I've been looking at condos. I am aiming for the better public school areas and Ttown isnt on the list. Mainling aiming for Irv., Dobbs, Hastings (like everyone else!)

      • those MTA commuter trains aren't always that cool, and the platforms at GCT are pretty brutal, too.

      • NP: But also need to consider parking at the commuter rail stations. Most likely you will not be within walking distance to a train station, and the parking permits can be really hard to get sometimes.

          • Personally I like Larchmont. Very good schools as well. Shoot for a small house there, I think it could be done in the 600's or 700's if you could swing it. Such a nice little town.

            • Also I hear there are nice apartments in New Rochelle, maybe you could do that under the Scarsdale zip code.
