Flame away but this is my vent. I am not a mom who spends a mint to throw a first birthday party or rents out any place to have 50 dcs. I a not a mom who shops for handmade clothing for my dc and I don't run around the city going from class to class. Why do people think it is alright to be so openly critical about how I choose to raise my dcs?

[ Reply | Options ]thank you! not to sound like a jerk but we have the money to do these things if we wanted to but why would anyone wants to spend $1k or more on a birthday party!
[ Reply | Options ]People do sh!t like that to impress their friends. Kids are just as happy running around and playing tag. We probably spent $150 on our son's birthday party in the park, and it was a hit: We made a bunch of food, bought some balloons and a cake, did face painting and a pinata and that was that.

When I ride in a taxi cab with my DC I: Use a carseat; Hold him/her on my lap; I'd never ride in a taxi with my DC, it's much too dangerous
- Use a carseat
- Buckle him/her in his/her own seat
- Hold him/her on my lap
