Say you invited someone over to your house and a month later your mom was diagnosed with cancer. Then that same person went to another relatives house and their daughter was diagnosed with a different kind of cancer. Then that same person was invited to a wedding, and was upset that the rushed wedding was stealing the thunder of her own wedding and the bride ended up with inflamed molar that left looking like a chipmunk on her wedding day. Then the family whose daughter had cancer and had been doing really well had this person over for a second time and now their daughters cancer is back worse than before. Would you blame anyone for not wanting to invite this person to their house, or chance it on the grounds of coincidence?

[ Reply | Options ]so you would risk it. and if someone in your family suddenly got cancer or got sick, would you question your decision?

I am willing to accept that I sound crazy, and am probably wrong, but I also don't want to take a chance since crazier happens all the time.
[ Reply | Options ]so what exactly is your thinking here? that the person is putting curses on people or that she is an unknowing jinx?
[ Reply | Options ]correct. I am also willing to accept that I am probably wrong. What I am curious about is if anyone else on the board avoids things, people, etc. because they think it could bring them bad luck. I accept I am not making sense, but would you risk having this person over if you could avoid it.

When I ride in a taxi cab with my DC I:
- Use a carseat
- Buckle him/her in his/her own seat
- Hold him/her on my lap
- I'd never ride in a taxi with my DC, it's much too dangerous!
