OP: no that's awesome. i am newly pg and looking -- but worried b/c one poster here said she misdiagnosed her and the office was porrly run. at @8 weeks i dont have tons of time to shop around.
[ Reply | Options ]np: well if you need another rec. I love Shawna Hedley. Great Dr, very easy to speak to, takes her time with you, ect, ect. She delivers out of Roosevelt and her office is on E. 43st. I love the other 2 men in the practice too
[ Reply | Options ]I was the one who said she misdiagnosed me. She totally did. This may be too much info, but I had some "blemishes" which she thought was a herpes outbreak. Tested me for herpes and gave me antiviral medication. 2 wks later, no word from her, so I called her office and was told by the receptionist that the herpes test was negative. She never called to tell me that and to tell me to stop the medication. Nor did she call to see if the problem was resolved. I had the same problem a few months later and went to see my derm instead who looked at it, said no way was it herpes, and then tested it and found it was a staph infection. I also waited 2 hrs for an appt with Dr. Patrick with no apology or even acknowledgement of the delay from her. She seems like a nice person, but I would go to someone else. I now see Laura Schiller who is smart, responsive, and follows up with phone calls.
[ Reply | Options ]Surprised to hear all that negative stuff about Dr Patrick. I have never had a problem and neither has my firend who is using her for db#2, but sounds like you have some good recommendations and I actually found the office was well run, well everyone has different experiences. Congrats and best of luck w/whoever you choose. I would look perhaps to docs at NY Cornell, I did not love Roosevelt, labor and delivery was great but post-partum nursing sucked, you will probably hear that from everyone. However, Roosevelt seems very popular these days and everyone I know had a great L & D experience. A lot of hospitals have poor post-partum staffing it seems.

When I ride in a taxi cab with my DC I:
- Use a carseat
- Buckle him/her in his/her own seat
- Hold him/her on my lap
- I'd never ride in a taxi with my DC, it's much too dangerous!
