I have a strength training question--I feel like I hear so much conflicting info about this. Is it better, for lean, slim muscle, to do high reps, low weight or minimal reps, weight as high as you can stand?

no, the two month I will do high weights. I can see the results then I tone it down to a weight that I feel comfortable with that I can add more and more reps. I think if I just go in thinking not to high weight I sell myself short and end up feeling frustrated that I'm not feeling a burn or seeing results.
[ Reply | Options ]I've been reading all about this since I posted this question--it seems universally accepted that you need to use enough weight to cause real, true muscle fatigue-that feeling that you just CAN'T do another rep with good form--within 8-12 reps, to see results--either strength or endurance or tone.

To put on muscle mass do low reps high weight. To get lean muscle, do high reps low weight.
