Looking to rent an apartment. What are the nicer areas in Manhattan on the west side north of 96th street (because itdue to price)?

anywhere is fine, but be warned that most of the places around Columbia - 110-120 near Riverside are owned by the school, so it is hard to find apts up there, and you DON'T want to be by Morningside Park/East of Bway

If you'd consider the East Side, nice rentals went up at 100th and 1st and 102nd. They even have shuttles to the subway.
[ Reply | Options ]My friends just lived there and moved to FH because they hated it. I lived on 108th and B'way and went to Columbia. West of Broadway above 96th to maybe 116 is super nice and there are tons of family friendly things to do. There isn't a ton of inventory, and I don't know how prices are these days, but it is in some ways nicer and less crowded than lower down. I visited friends near Morningside Park recently but don't like that area as much.
