surely the dumbest post of the night but here goes, we are moving to a house and today we took the kids there to walk around, the blessing and curse of apt living was we could here everything from any room, now a little nervous about the second floor, our kdis are 4 and 3, so clearly they can do stairs, but do people really hang in the den downstairs while the kids are sleeping upstairs? how do u heard stuff? do you gate the steps for awhile?

[ Reply | Options ]we used a baby monitor until my youngest, who has really strong lungs, was around 3. I still use a gate at the top of the stairs at night in case one of them wakes in the middle of the night - we wouldn't want them to accid fall down the stairs. the baby monitor is a good idea so if they wake you will have some warning before they come downstairs and catch you watching tv or eating ice cream!
