2 yo ds just started climbing in and out of the crib when playing. It looks terrifying. How long do I have to get him a toddler bed? Should I go today? He has not tried it during naps / nights yet.

    - You could. It certainly wouldn't do any harm. You could skip the toddler bed altogether then.

        I think they say to about 4 but my big 2.5yo makes his look small. I know 2yo's who went straight into regular beds with no problems

        I have a friend that just bought the regular sized mattress and put it on the floor, and waited for a little while until the kid was bigger to buy the frame. That worked well for her.

        When we moved ds to his toddler bed we put the old crib mattress on the floor next to the bed in case he fell out (which he did)

- you can also get one of those tents that fit over cribs to keep cats out. I hear they work well on keeping Houdini kids in too.
