  • Anyone here believe in a literal heaven where you are reunited with the people you loved and you live in some type of paradise because you were good while here on Earth ? Do you also think that only believers of your faith will be there ?

    • I believe in Heaven in a comforting way. That I'll be reunited with only the people I love and miss. I don't think it has anything to do with being "good." I think serial killers and pedophiles will also be in heaven with people they love and miss, that their essence will be stripped of its badness, like a reversion/conversion. Crazy sounding, maybe.

      • NO. I like tyour idea. I have been thinking about it a bit - I don't honestly know why now - but someone yesterday mentioned heaven and in the discussion she said that she believes that only Christians will be in heaven and while it doesn't sound nice, that is sort of a tenet of the faith. Things that make me go hmmmmmm.....

        • I'm Jewish, not religious, and my ideas about Heaven have very little to do with religion. It's more about comfort. I want to believe in Heaven. I want to believe I'll be reunited with my best friend who died of a brain aneurysm. I want my dd to know that comfort too.

              • Yes, in a sense. But if you are a person who believes in the tenets of your faith (ie jesus is the redeemer and the only way to the Father is through Him) you sort of have to believe that it's that way or the highway. Now insert a joke about the "Highway to Hell".

        • Yes, they are all there for that man. I don't believe in a heaven with people walking around and chatting. I believe it's more a souls thing, where you are at rest and in comfort and at peace. The wife and mistress are unaware of each other in heaven. This is my own personal version of heaven, mind you!
