  • anyone on who moved from nyc to philly? dh is being transferred and we just put an offer on a house near narberth, excited but scared, we've been in nyc for 15 years and have two young toddlers.

    • I moved from DC to Philly last year. We live near Narberth too. I've met several transplants around. It's a great area with some odd quirks. GL!

      • ^^more: Love our house and the sense of community. Am less thrilled with the preschools and the restaurants. But it's been a good move for us and it's easy living compared to DC.

          • op: thanks so much for you post. we've lived in dc too. excited for the cost of living change, nyc has been killing us, and the idea of great public schools in lower merion was also a huge draw, we have family nearby, but i am still nervous about it all.

          • are you jewish? My dc attended main line reform: great facility, lots of extras, nice community, but not good year for dc. I looked at Haverford Friends and strongly considered it; I liked what I saw. Other options: Gateway School, Overbrook (more citylike/diverse), Beth Hillel, Har Zion.
