  • We just moved and switched daycares for my 20 m/o and although the teachers swear he has a lot of fun and is really doing well, the drop off is a nightmare - he screams and cries, but they say it only lasts for about 5-10 minutes after we leave. How can we make it easier?? Its killing us and breaking my heart!

    • Totally normal behavior, even with caregivers DCs adore. Make it easier on yourself by just walking away becaue it's over before you are out the door. I'd hear DD shrieking as I walked out the door. By the time the elevator got to our floor, I'd be hearing giggles. DC will outgrow it soon enough - mine now just looks at me and says "Bye, Mom."

      • Ok - that makes me a feel better. I was beginning to think we might be emotionally scarring him for life! Thanks!
