  • Anyone else totally creeped out by the idea of homebirth?

    • creeped out isn't the right word for me. I would never do it myself, but don't really have any issues with other people doing it.

    • not creeped out but wont' do it because I know that things in a split second could happen and I prefer to have medical staff and technology there since emergencies are a matter of minutes

      • my cousin lives in the UK and she goes on and on about it, like there is no reason we have hospitals. It is so annoying...

        • I am from the UK and it is pretty common over there. If you are having a straightforward pg it is even encouraged by med staff in some areas.

          • I'm fine with it, just wish she didn't spend all her time talking to me about how wonderful it was, how stupid doctors are for encouraging births to be in hospital. I just wish she would keep it all to herself unless asked.

        • np: I find this too with nutso parents who EBF and those who had a natural birth. I had one but don't feel like I'm better than anyone..but I've heard others wear it like a badge of honor..such BS

    • not creeped out but think it is taking an unneccasary risk. I have worked in a NICU and have seen cases of very uneventful pregnancies after which db need to be intubated or had other major complications.
