we missed having dd take G&T test for this year for K. (kicking myself now...) is it still possible for 1st grade? when would she take the test?
15 replies [ Reply | Watch | Options ]district 14 in brooklyn. i don't know quite how this works. people i know had their dc take the test and got into 11 in manhattan. how can i find out more re: what to do next year? (psd no help...has no clue about public school options. sigh)
[ Reply | Options ]Call your zoned school and ask them. Not sure how these parents got into a G&T that's not in their zone.
[ Reply | Options ]For some reason, can't reply directly to your question below. Go to insideschools.org and look at Gifted and Talented.
[ Reply | Options ]just looked on insideschools, and there is currently no G&T in district 14 (though i've heard rumors of a G&T class possibly opening at PS 132). does the fact that there is no G&T program in our district change anything?
[ Reply | Options ]Call your district office. There was a lot of movement in terms of setting up new G&T programs in districts this year, and insideschools may not have been able to keep up.
[ Reply | Options ]We are in district 14. DD is going to Nest. Our selection form had one district G&T at PS 132. It is new for this year. Assuming they didn't remove it due to lack of students, it should still be there. There were only 17 who scored more than 90% in D14. There is no way someone outside of district got 11 G&T unless they had an address in the district.
