  • dd is going into eighth grade - we are trying to decide where to send her for hs and we want to be on top of things - i went to private school and was leaning towards that, but dh wants to find something that won't cost us a fortune, certainly we do not expect a free school like this to just exist, but wondering if anyone had suggestions - we aren't fond of the high school in our district - we live in bergen county

          • We have considered that option; however, moving to NY at this time is just out of the question. We are preparing to do so for our younger children though.

              • well, we like bergen county because the commute is easy for dh and i to our places of work and we have family here - trying to find options in the area for high school

                • I know nothing about suburban schools except that the better public ones are in the wealthier communities. So - Franklin Lakes, Allendale, Demarest, Montvale, Glen Rock, Oradell?

      • one of the best schools or ramsey high (saddle river has the choice to go there or highlands)... THE BEST school in bergen county is the specialized school, The Bergen Academies -- you have to test in... Glen Rock also has excellent schools, as does Tenafly....

    • It's not public, but I know that some kids come in from NJ and go to the hill schools (Horace Mann, Riverdale, Fieldston)
