  • Planning to be a sahm in NYC. Can any sahm's tell me what it is really like? Afraid it might be too isolating. Seems like everyone works!

    • I sahm'd for a year. there are plenty of new mom groups and activites to get you out there. it helps if you are social by nature.

    • It's only isolating if you don't get out and get involved with things. Doesn't have to be expensive either. I've had good luck with local meetup groups.

    • There are a zillion sahms in my neighborhood. Never met so many people who could live on one income until I became a parent. (I'm a wohm with some week days off, and my social life has expanded through dc, especially now that he's in regular school.)
