Why am I sad that my best friend I grew up with chose another one of her friends to be her matron of honor and not me. I know i am lame, but i am still kinda sad. I am a bridesmaid and will still be part of it but still a little sad that I am not that person in her life.

I get it. My BF I grew up with had a friend and her cousin as bridesmaids. I wasn't even in the wedding. I felt silly that I cared, but I did.
[ Reply | Options ]You kids are so obsessed with the here and now. I haven't heard from my maid of honor in 35 years ... we're hitting our 40th anniversary this year. Just because she's your *bestest friend in the whole wide world* today doesn't mean squat in the long run.

[ Reply | Options ]Uh huh. Sounds like me and my best friend. We lived across the street from each other our whole lives ... classmates from first grade through graduation. Even got jobs out of school at the same company in the secretarial pool. I would have thought she wasn't going anywhere, either. But life happens. You can't predict the future.
