  • I was so excited to find china storage things on major sale today. So tonight I'm putting away my china and realize that we have no bowls. Can't remember for the life of me if we ever had them. Surely we had bowls but something has happened to them.Exhibit #544 that having kids make you stupid.

    • 5 pc place settings of fine china usually don't come with bowls. You have to buy them separately.

      • OP- thank you. I thought I was losing my freaking mind. Yet, why in the world didn't I register for them?

        • b/c you probably did not have the help of a consultant...and you thought you knew what you were doing.

          • OP - i knew I didn't have a clue. The particularly alarming thing is that we have been married for 10 years and I am just now noticing the absence of the bowls.

        • Because you almost never serve soup at formal dinners. A dinner plate, salad plate, bread/butter plate, cup and saucer is perfectly enough. And any consultant would tell you that. Don't listen to the person above.
