On Hunter elem admission to Hunter High - If is true that the kids may not do as well on the entrance exam - I have heard the HOS say that he doesn't care and would do nothing to improve the performance of the HCES kids on the entrance exam because he does not believe in test prep. OTOH - He has confirmed that the performance of the HCES kids in the HS is every bit as strong as the new kids - many kids have a difficult time with the adjustment from the lower school to the upper school (true at all highly academic schools, particularly the progressives) but the HOS has been working with both the ES and HS to smooth out the adjustment.
