  • My db is in the pavlic harness for hip dysplasia. She has been in it since she was 4 days old and now she is 6 weeks. I thought she would be out of it by now. I know the doctor is doing the right thing for her and I am praying it works so we don't have to do anything else for her - but I am so upset. I wish she was out of it - she looks uncomfortable, it's hot out now, the thing is filthy (not the easiest thing to clean). Anyone else's db have dysplasia?

    • she looks uncomfortable to you but this is all she knows. think about it - she was squished in the womb for months (not comfortable by our standards) and she's fine. just try and relax and recognize that this is what you need to do. she'll be fine and never even remember it. sorry.

      • I know you are right - I just feel so bad for her. I just hope it works. We won't get an xray and know for another 4 weeks.

    • I had it as a kid, but in those days it was diagnosed later. I wore a harness for a long time when I was an older baby. I don't have a single memory of it and neither will your daughter.

      • I also had it and so did my sister - we were in casts as older babies, 3-9 months. I have no memory (obv) and no issues, but my mother said we SMELLED and were filthy! My sister was older in the cast (9 months) and learned to crawl, she would drag her lower half in the cast all over. You dd will be fine I am sure. My first dd had clicky hips and I was afriad she would have hip dysplacia but turned out it was just clicky hips. Hang in there.
