First child, we are all won over by the "use Dreft" propaganda. Later, we used regular detergent (by, like 6 mos) and washed his clothes sep. from ours. Second child, we just tossed her stuff in with ours from the beginning. (Though we do use All Free or Cheer Free.) Really, it's a question if you have detergent or dye or fragrance allergy in your family history. We do, my mom, but allergy genes seem to have died out with my generation.

I used Tide from day one with both kids. No problems. Don't buy into the Dreft crap. For stains, I bought a stain cleaner from Buy Buy Baby.
