I feel like saying this: I hate my effin' MIL. She's a crazy, selfish, paranoid nutbag and I'm soooo tired of dealing with her lunacy. *sigh* Thanks for listening...

My dh is mostly wonderful (although when he displays the apple not falling far from that nutbag tree crap, he's not so precious). Db is only 5mo, but she does usually cry when MIL holds her. I think she senses MILs nerves and uneasiness. I know it's a little cruel, but I secretly smile when the little one starts up in her lap. And just so you don't start getting all sad for MIL, she's got no patience for db. As soon as she starts to fuss, or needs changing she screams "Take her!!" and shoves her back in our arms. A lovely woman, really. :/
[ Reply | Options ]no, i'm not feeling bad for her, i was just considering how far you should go to maintain contact with her. i mean, yu wouldn't hang out with her if not for db and dh so those relationships determine others
[ Reply | Options ]Oh yeah, I only see her to keep the peace with dh and for db. Her SIL stopped coming over for holidays once she figured out how wretched my MIL was, but I don't think that's right to do. I love my dh and he loves his Mom. I'm very lucky that he knows that she's kinda out there. I don't know what I'd do if he was oblivious.
