  • Car shopping. Which cars accommodate 2 car seats plus a booster seat? Does the new Highlander hybrid do this? What about the Volvo cross country? (Trying to avoid big SUV or mini-van). TIA.

    • rented a highlander last week. it does accomodate this, BUT there is literally no trunk space if you have the third row set up. it's laughable.

      • Thanks. I can't imagine using the 3rd row. I just want a car that gets pretty good gas mileage *and* that can fit 3 kids in 2d row (3 kids under 5).

    • Volvo is super tiny trunk space with third row up. PITA to get to the back row with two carseats as well. You need something with Captains Seats in second row

    • fwiw, i had three in car seats and we got a minivan. the gas mileage isn't great but i can't imagine anything smaller. if we want to go away, we load it up. it's a little easier now that dcs are a drop older (no double stroller, etc), but i still don't see myself downsizing soon.
