  • advice needed. am thinking of telling a colleague that I will be doing ivf soon. is that a bad idea?

    • depends. Are you the kind of person who readily shares personal info? Is he/she the kind of person who will be supportive but not intrusive?

      • would share only so that she would have a heads up re upcoming projects. otherwise, am a very private person. i don't think she would share with others. we are not particularly close.

        • in that case maybe a good idea. When I was doing some fertility treatments, I had to tell at work b/c I was missing chunks of time that would not be easy to account for. Once they knew, they were fine with it. GL to you!

    • Yes, b/c you are calling the person a colleague which implies that you are not really friends with them. It's such a tough emotional process, that the best support might be from close friends, not work colleagues.
