Ok, I want to take the morning after pill, however it says not to take it if I have abnormal vaginal bleeding. I have been having random spotting for a few months. Does anyone know why that would contraindicate me taking it?

  - You don't need a presciption for it, and I actually don't have an OB right now, recently moved.

        No, the RU486 is the abortion pill for when you are already pregnant. The morning after pill prevents ovulation or implantation if your BC method (or lack thereof) has failed.

        Oh, I always thought they were the same thing. I would call your old ob. Actually, page the oncall doc and explain the situation - that you just moved, don't have a new ob yet and need an answer asap. GL!
